Focus, short and long breaks
Each phase has its own colour. After the rounds you set, a long break follows.
Work in focused rounds and take your breaks on time. Startwerk’s Pomodoro widget puts a calm timer on your new tab in Chrome: 25 minutes of focus, 5 minutes of rest and a longer break after four rounds. Free, no account, no extra app.

The Pomodoro Technique is simple: work on one thing until the timer rings, then take a break. What usually gets in the way is the timer itself, hidden in another app or tab. In Startwerk it sits where you look a hundred times a day: on every new tab.
The timer keeps running when you close the start page or open other tabs. All Startwerk tabs show the same time and only one of them plays the chime. If you like, Chrome notifies you when a phase ends, even when no start page is open.
Each phase has its own colour. After the rounds you set, a long break follows.
Focus from 15 to 90 minutes, short breaks from 3 to 15, long breaks from 10 to 30, and two to six rounds. Classic 25/5 works, and so does 50/10.
Pause when someone interrupts you, reset a round or skip to the next phase.
While the timer runs, the remaining time also shows in the tab title, so you can see it from any tab.
A soft chime when time is up, and an optional Chrome notification that also works when the start page is closed.
Dots show which round you are in, and the widget counts your focus rounds for the day.
In Startwerk, click Edit, then + Widget, and choose Pomodoro from “Focus & calm”.
Pick the focus and break lengths, the rounds before the long break and whether the next phase starts by itself.
Start the timer and stay on one thing. When the chime sounds, take your break.
