Your calendar on Chrome’s new tab.

Know what’s next before you get lost in a new tab. Startwerk shows your next event front and centre and the three after it below, from Google Calendar, iCloud, Outlook, Nextcloud or any other iCal link.

The next meeting at a glance

Most calendars can share a private iCal address. Paste that link into Startwerk and your new tab shows what’s coming: “Happening now” with a progress bar, “In 20 min”, “Tomorrow” or a date, plus title, time and location.

Your browser loads the calendar directly from your provider, with no Startwerk server in between. Events are refreshed every 15 minutes while the page is open and cached on your device for the next 120 days.

What the calendar widget does

Any iCal calendar

Google Calendar, iCloud, Outlook, Nextcloud and every other service that offers an iCal or webcal link.

Repeating events

Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly series, exceptions and moved dates are handled correctly, including time zones.

Several calendars

Add one widget per calendar, for example work and family, each with its own name.

Quiet when it’s clear

No events coming up? The card simply says your calendar is clear.

Connect your calendar

  1. Copy your iCal address

In Google Calendar, open the calendar’s settings and copy the “secret address in iCal format”. Other services offer a similar link.

  2. Add the calendar widget

In Startwerk, click Edit, then + Widget, and choose Calendar.

  3. Paste the link

Paste the address and give the calendar a name if you like. Chrome asks once for access to that one site.

Questions and answers

Does it work with Google Calendar?
Yes. Use the private iCal address from your Google Calendar settings. Startwerk reads it; it can’t change your events.
Can I click an event?
Not yet. The widget shows your events so you know what’s next; editing stays in your calendar app.
Is my calendar link safe?
It stays in your browser and, if Chrome Sync is on, in your own Google account. There is no Startwerk server that could receive it.
